Honey experimentation:

Why did I decide to do this shoot?

I decided that I liked this idea of manipulating a liquid to create fascinating compositions like I did with the first shoot. However, I wanted to use a different medium this time and figured that Honey had a nice viscosity to work with, so I went with honey and drooped it over a metal rod.

This shoot was fun but really messy. I started off as planned, dribbling honey over a stick and photographing it slowly dripping down. However, it was surprisingly runny and was difficult to capture when it was dripping down. Due to this I had to use a shutter speed of 1/1000 and an aperture of F4.6. Fortunately I had a powerful light souce that allowed me to do this.

After a while I thought I'd try something different. I was looking for something that had holes in it so that the honey would drip down differently. I tried a cheese grater but it didn't work, then I had this idea to use a colander and it worked wonders. I got some really interesting alien landscape images, that will look great if turned upside down.
