PVA Glue Experimentation:

Why did I decide to do this shoot?

Surprisingly the honey that I used in the previous shoot wasn't as thick as I thought it would be so I decided that I wanted to do a similar thing but with a thicker medium so I chose to do a shoot with PVA Glue. Another reason I chose to use the PVA is that I felt that my previous shoot lacked colour and I knew that you could dye PVA easily with paint as it's white. I thought that the colour would also help make the composition more interesting. I also liked this idea that the honey shoot looked like an alien landscape once the images were flipped and edited in photoshop. I wanted to see if I could push this idea of using a medium to create a composition and then minipulate it to look like something else.

I'll start of by saying that his shoot was meant to be me taking what I've learnt from the previous shoot and improving it so that I would have a more refined set of photographs. This did not happen. Instead I created an entirely different set of photographs. Yes the concept is the same and yes only a few things were changed but I think the final outcome was very creative. The photographs were not what I wanted but I was still happy with what I achieved, if that makes sense. I managed to create a myriad of different photographs that appeal to the viewers more colourful and playful side.

In terms of setup everything was the same, but this time I wanted to use two soft boxes instead of one. But one of them broke so I only had one, which to be quite frank, wasn't enough light for the shoot. However, I made it work. I had to decrease the shutter speed in order to compensate for this but it was possible due to the fact that the PVA was not as runny as the honey. Below are the best photographs out of the bunch that I took.
