Low

Perpective Shoot

Why did I decide to do this shoot?

I wanted to use nature for this shoot and look at low perspective shots of grass etc to see what it looks like up close and whether it resembles a structure of some kind. But I didn't want to change anything. I just wanted to see what I could get from nature on it's own.

This shoot was a lot more difficult to execute than originally expected. I mean the concept is simple. Put the camera on the floor and take some low perspective photographs. It wasn't that simple.

I did the shoot in a woods near my house and I thought I'd have loads of things to photographs but after I took a few photographs I realised that it was becoming increasingly difficult to not repeat myself. I had to think and look very carefully for different compositions and angles. It was tough. But in spite of this I got some aesthetically pleasing photographs that I'm proud of. Again I tired various angles and tried changing the depth of field from shallow to deep. But if I'm being honest the shallow focus ones worked the best.

The camera settings were pretty straight forward. ISO was at 100 because I was outside and it was quite sunny. Shutter speed was around 1/60 again and aperture was as low as possible so that I could get photographs of objects up close.

Now, did I enjoy this shoot? To put it bluntly. No. It was dull and quite frankly lacked colour and creativity. But there is an upside because I have an idea for my next shoot now. I'm going to do the same thing but construct the compositions myself rather than rely on nature. Anyway, below are the best photographs and I had to be very picky so there aren't many.
