Fire Experimentation Photoshoot

This shoot was not planned, it just happend. During the winter break I went away to 'Center Parcs' for Christmas and in our log cabin there was a wood burner. I bought my camera with me, with the intention of doing a shoot and I'm so glad I did as the photographs that I took, are personaly, my favourite. I decided to take some photographs of the fire burning as I thought that it would tie in nicely with the Ziang Zhi photoshoot that I plan to do next.

The first bunch of photographs that I took weren't the best, but they captured some bold colours, so that's why I decided to keep them. For these photographs I was using a shutter speed of 1/50, an aperture of F.5 and an ISO of 800, which seems idiotic looking back at it now as the shutter speed does not need to be that slow. For my next set of photographs I tried increasing the shutter speed and the results were astonishing....

For these photographs I used a shutter speed of 1/320, an aperture of F5.6 and an ISO of 100 and I believe that the photographs are significantly better.
